Beau Glitter operates this online store and website, including the related content, features, products, tools, and services offered to customers (the “Services”). Our store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform that allows us to offer the Services to you.

This Privacy Policy explains how Beau Glitter collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information when you visit or use the Services, place an order, upload a photograph, request an event quote, or otherwise communicate with us.

Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect or process:

  • Order and transaction information, including products viewed or purchased, selected sizes, finishes and frame options, order history, payment confirmation, shipping details, returns, cancellations, and customer service records.

  • Payment information. Payments are processed by Shopify and authorised payment providers. Beau Glitter does not directly receive or store your complete payment card number or security code.

  • Account information, where customer accounts are available, including login details, preferences, and account settings.

  • Communications, including information you provide when contacting us, requesting support, submitting an event enquiry, or responding to an order-related message.

  • Uploaded photographs and personalisation files, including photographs and other files you voluntarily submit so that we can assess, create, fulfil, and support your personalised order.

  • Device and usage information, including your browser, device type, network connection, IP address, cookie identifiers, and information about how and when you interact with the Services.

  • Marketing preferences, including whether you have agreed to receive promotional communications.

We ask that you do not send us personal information that is not reasonably required for your order or enquiry.

Uploaded Photographs and Personalisation Files

Photographs uploaded through our store are used to assess image suitability and to create, fulfil, deliver, and support the personalised product requested by you.

We do not claim ownership of your photograph. By uploading a file, you give Beau Glitter a limited, non-exclusive permission to access, crop, reproduce, and process it only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested product and related customer support.

We will not publish or use a customer photograph in advertising, social media, portfolio material, or other promotional content without obtaining separate permission from the customer.

By uploading a photograph, you confirm that:

  • You own the photograph or have permission from the relevant rights holder to use it.

  • You have permission from any identifiable person shown in the photograph where such permission is required.

  • The photograph and its requested use do not infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

  • The photograph is not unlawful, abusive, exploitative, threatening, obscene, or otherwise harmful.

We may decline or remove content that we reasonably believe breaches these requirements or applicable law.

We use Upload-Lift, provided by Cloudlift, to receive and process customer-uploaded files. Upload-Lift stores uploaded files in Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. Under the app’s current free-plan settings, uploaded files are ordinarily retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. If a file is manually deleted, the provider may retain it for up to seven additional days for accidental-deletion recovery. Where a file is connected to an order, the order number may also be stored with the file record.

We may download a file where reasonably required to create and support the ordered product. Any local working copy will be kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for production, customer support, dispute handling, fraud prevention, or legal recordkeeping, and will then be securely deleted or de-identified where appropriate.

Sources of Personal Information

We may collect personal information:

  • Directly from you, when you visit or use the Services, place an order, upload a file, create an account, complete a form, request an event quote, or communicate with us.

  • Automatically through the Services, including through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website.

  • From service providers, when they process information on our behalf to provide ecommerce, payment, file-upload, storage, analytics, fraud-prevention, customer support, or delivery services.

  • From partners or other third parties, where permitted by law and relevant to providing or improving the Services.

How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Process payments and fulfil, personalise, produce, and deliver orders.

  • Assess whether an uploaded photograph is suitable for printing and contact you if a replacement or additional information is required.

  • Provide order updates, customer support, event quotes, returns, refunds, and other requested services.

  • Create, maintain, and manage customer accounts where available.

  • Operate, troubleshoot, secure, analyse, and improve the store and customer experience.

  • Detect, investigate, and prevent suspected fraud, misuse, illegal activity, or security incidents.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in the message. We may still send non-promotional communications that are necessary for an order, account, or customer service matter.

  • To Shopify, which hosts and operates our ecommerce store.

  • To payment processors that securely process transactions.

  • To Upload-Lift and Cloudlift, which provide the photograph and file-upload functionality used for personalised orders.

  • To Google Cloud and other hosting or storage providers used by our service providers.

  • To delivery, fulfilment, email, analytics, fraud-prevention, and customer support providers.

  • To business or marketing partners where relevant services are enabled and permitted by law.

  • When you direct us or consent to a particular disclosure.

  • To professional advisers, courts, regulators, law enforcement, or government authorities where reasonably required or permitted by law.

  • In connection with a lawful business transaction, such as a sale, restructuring, merger, or insolvency event.

We do not sell customer-uploaded photographs. Our service providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices and may only receive the information reasonably necessary to perform their services.

Relationship With Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services so that it can provide and improve its ecommerce services. Information submitted through our store may be transmitted to Shopify and other service providers located outside Australia.

Shopify may also process information from your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify to provide security, analytics, personalisation, advertising, and other enhanced features. In those circumstances, Shopify may be responsible for responding to certain privacy requests relating to its own processing.
